Bournemouth are softening their stance on selling England midfielder Alex Scott, who continues to refuse offers to sign a new contract. The club would have to consider a January offer in excess of £80m with add-ons, according to Sky Sports News.
Scott, 23, is ambitious and keen to explore options with bigger clubs, though he will not agitate for a move. Chelsea and Liverpool retain serious interest, while Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham previously inquired before strengthening their midfields in the summer.
Contract situation and club stance
Scott's existing contract expires in just over 18 months, and Bournemouth are aware his value will only shrink as time passes. While they do not want to sell him, sources say they may be open to offers in January if the club is practically safe from relegation.
Bournemouth have yet to win a Premier League game this season and lost 5-1 at Chelsea last weekend. Scott also faces more weeks out after exacerbating a thigh tendon injury while on England duty, where he made his full senior debut.
We just closed the other transfer window and we're now talking about the next one.

What the manager said
Head coach Marco Rose insisted Scott remains committed to Bournemouth despite growing talk of a January exit. Speaking on Wednesday ahead of the Europa League game with Sturm Graz, Rose said: "We just closed the other transfer window and we're now talking about the next one."
Rose added that the club is focused on the upcoming matches and not on rumours, and that Scott is injured but expected back soon. "He's quite committed, everyone can see it from the first games," Rose said.
