Moses Itauma could be one victory away from another world title shot.
Key points
- Moses Itauma could earn another world title shot with one win after losing to Filip Hrgovic in August.
- Promoter Frank Warren plans a January comeback fight at a good level for Itauma.
- Warren also promotes champions Hrgovic, Kabayel and Dubois, any of whom Itauma could target.
Moses Itauma, a 21-year-old prospect, could be one victory away from another world title shot, according to his promoter Frank Warren. Itauma lost to Filip Hrgovic in August in his first world championship fight, tiring and being stopped in nine rounds.
Warren plans to bring Itauma back in January for a test fight to set up another title challenge. After that, Itauma will target a world champion.
Warren's comeback plan
Warren told Sky Sports that Itauma's return fight will be a decent test. He said, "When you're coming off a loss any comeback fight is a risky fight." Warren added that Itauma wants to prove himself and get back into the mix.
Warren also said Itauma will be very active next year and could fight any of the champions he promotes: IBF champion Hrgovic, WBC titlist Agit Kabayel, or WBO champion Daniel Dubois. A win would put Itauma back in the top half of the rankings.

Hrgovic and Sanchez next
Hrgovic is due to face mandatory challenger Frank Sanchez next. Warren said he is working to hold the fight in Croatia, calling it Hrgovic's dream.
Sanchez's manager Mike Borao told Sky Sports they are looking to make the fight happen in the first quarter of 2027. Borao said Sanchez is confident and eager for his chance to become world champion, though he expects a tough fight against the elite Hrgovic.
