Tottenham outcast Richarlison scored for Spurs' U21s in their EFL Trophy group-stage match at Cheltenham, but the team lost 7-6 on penalties after the game ended 2-2 in normal time.
The Brazil international started and equalised in the 56th minute, then converted his penalty in the shoot-out. His goals could not prevent defeat for Tottenham U21s at the League Two side.
First appearance since August
The match at Cheltenham was Richarlison's first appearance for the club since he played nearly 70 minutes in Tottenham's 3-0 Premier League defeat at Brentford on August 22.
The 29-year-old has been told he is not in Roberto De Zerbi's first-team plans and was left out of Spurs' Premier League squad for the season.
Transfer situation leaves forward in limbo
Richarlison failed to secure a move away before the summer window closed for teams in Europe, and he turned down a move to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in September.
He is in the final year of his contract and is currently in limbo until he becomes a free agent, unless he resolves the situation with Tottenham or joins another club in the January transfer window.
