England include red-ball game in India tour as Ashes prep
England A squads travel to India in November to play three T20s, three 50-over fixtures and a four-day game.
Key points
- England A will play a four-day game on their India tour as preparation for the 2026 Women's Ashes.
- The tour runs in November and December, with T20s in Pune and 50-over and four-day matches in Mumbai.
- Eleven players in the England A squad have been capped internationally, including Issy Wong and Lauren Filer.
England A will play a four-day game on their upcoming tour of India as part of preparation for next summer's Women's Ashes. The tour takes place in November and December and also includes three T20s and three 50-over matches, as England face another winter without senior international cricket.
The home international summer ended with a 3-0 thrashing of Ireland in September, and England have no other fixtures scheduled until after Christmas.
Tour schedule and squad
The tour starts with T20s in Pune on 30 November, followed by the 50-over fixtures and the four-day game at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Eleven players in the England A squad across all three formats have been capped internationally, including fast bowlers Issy Wong and Lauren Filer and left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman.
All-rounders Mady Villiers, Charis Pavely and Jodi Grewcock, wicketkeeper-batter Kira Chathli and seamer Grace Ballinger are also included. Seamer Ryana Macdonald-Gay is in both white-ball squads, while top-order batter Grace Scrivens is part of the 50-over and four-day sides. Batter Davina Perrin and fast bowler Cassidy McCarthy are recovering from injury and will not go on the A tour.

Ashes and upcoming fixtures
The multi-format Ashes series, played as such since 2013, starts with a four-day Test on 27 June at Headingley. England, who reached the final of the Women's T20 World Cup earlier this year under Charlotte Edwards and Nat Sciver-Brunt, will aim to regain the Ashes after a 16-0 thrashing away from home in 2025.
Before the Ashes, England are scheduled to play three T20s and three one-day internationals against Sri Lanka, though dates are unconfirmed. The first Women's Champions Trophy, a T20 competition, takes place in India in February, followed by a series against West Indies in April that could include a Test match, also without finalised dates.
