Giamanco's two daughters were inside Silver Rail Elementary School on Oct. 15 when he drove past and saw the shooter begin the attack. The shooter killed three children, ages 5, 8 and 11, and a 25-year-old teacher. Giamanco's daughters survived, and he killed the 16-year-old shooter after rushing into the school with his handgun.
What the call captured
Giamanco's first words on the recording were "Oh my God," according to the report. He named the school to the dispatcher and said, "This is my daughters' school. I'm about to go kill this kid."
When asked whether he knew the shooter's identity, Giamanco said he did not and that he had just been driving. The call ends shortly after the dispatcher asked for a description of the shooter and said help was on the way.
Someone's at the school, at my daughters' school with a gun. I have a gun, and I will shoot them right now if I have to

How the shooting began
The report says the attack started when the gunman shot at a vehicle. Giamanco previously told Oregon Public Broadcasting that he went for his gun in a panic after seeing the shooter throw his weapon over the school's fence and climb after it.
