Speaking to the Guardian in a pub garden near his east London home on a mild October day, Gamble said he keeps the show's secrets even from his wife, who loves the programme. He described himself as a Traitors obsessive and named Ross Kemp, an actor in this series, as his favourite contestant so far.

Gamble said he would not dismiss claims of unconscious racial and cultural bias raised by actor Myha'la after she was banished from the show, saying it is something that needs to be discussed. He also said Myha'la had signed her own death warrant with a wink at Richard E Grant shortly before he was unmasked as a traitor.
He said he dislikes it when players do not play the game hard enough. Of Kemp, he said there are many things he finds adorable and very funny, citing his hard-man image alongside his sensitivity and emotion.

Weight loss and career
Gamble, who turned 40 this year, wrote in his 2023 memoir Glutton that he was the funny fat guy at school. He reached about 120kg in his early 20s and later lost 44kg, starting after he was booked for a TV gig and also managing type 1 diabetes, diagnosed at 13.
He said he probably has got far more work since losing weight and called that sad but acknowledged he benefits from it. He married Charlie Jamison in 2021 and said he is known as a mega wife guy, adding that gay men keep his ego going by messaging him.
