The Denver Broncos beat the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 in overtime on Thursday night at Mile High Stadium. Will Lutz kicked a 53-yard field goal on Denver's first overtime possession to seal the win.

The result moves Denver to 4-2 and drops the defending champion Seahawks to 3-3.

How the game unfolded

Seattle took a first-quarter lead on a Jason Myers field goal. Denver answered with two second-quarter scoring drives, one on a four-yard JK Dobbins run and the other on a one-yard run by RJ Harvey, and did not reach the end zone again.

Denver managed 168 total yards to Seattle's 353, but its defense recorded five sacks and intercepted Sam Darnold twice. Darnold completed 27 of 51 attempts for a 52.6 rating, while Broncos quarterback Bo Nix threw for 107 yards.

Seattle forces overtime

George Holani ran in from one yard out after an 11-play, 67-yard drive with five minutes left, and Darnold found Rashid Shaheed on a tipped two-point conversion to cut the gap to three. Myers then kicked a 34-yard field goal with under a minute remaining to send the game to overtime.

In overtime, Broncos corner Ja'Quan McMillian intercepted Darnold in front of Shaheed, setting up Lutz's winning kick.
