Apple is ‘not able to predict’ when it’ll have enough iPhone Duos to go around

Apple CEO John Ternus doesn't have a timeline for when iPhone Duo supply constraints could lift. Apple has no timeline for when iPhone Duo supply will catch up with demand, CEO John Ternus told Reuters. He said the company is working to reach customers quickly but cannot yet say when supply and demand will balance.

The foldable, Apple's first, launched last month at $1,999 with a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner screen. Preorders sold out quickly, and some shipments are expected to arrive in 2027. Apple also offered a limited number of units in stores at launch.

Screen cracks and returns

Ternus also responded to reports of cracked screens, saying a very small percentage of iPhone Duos were returned over the issue and that Apple is replacing them.

What we’re seeing with memory pricing right now is unprecedented

— John Ternus

Memory costs and earnings

Ternus said memory pricing is unprecedented and that Apple expects even higher memory costs in its December quarter, partly offset by recent price increases. The company has faced supply chain constraints and rising memory costs for months, leading to higher prices across its lineup, including the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

Apple reported record iPhone revenue of $57.58 billion in its fourth quarter, even without a standard iPhone 18 model.
