Duran & Osmand spark Celtic into life - but where does that leave Hogh?
Martin O'Neill has previously said he is unsure of his best team, but it is now obvious that Camilo Duran is Celtic's best option through the middle.
Key points
- Celtic beat Besiktas after trailing 1-0 at Parkhead, with substitutes Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran turning the game.
- Osmand scored 43 seconds after coming on; Duran scored twice after moving through the middle.
- Kasper Hogh, the £11m club record signing, had no shots in 77 minutes before being withdrawn.
Celtic came from 1-0 down to beat Besiktas at Parkhead on Thursday, with substitutes Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran changing the game after an hour. Martin O'Neill brought the pair on for Sebastian Tounekti and James Forrest with Celtic heading towards a fourth straight Europa League defeat.
Osmand scored with his first touch 43 seconds after entering, and Duran scored twice after moving through the middle. Orkun Kokcu equalised for Besiktas before Duran's late winner.
Hogh's difficult evening
Kasper Hogh was withdrawn on 77 minutes after another underwhelming display. The £11m Dane, signed from Bodo/Glimt in the summer, has now failed to score in 16 of his 17 Celtic appearances.
Against Besiktas he had no shots and one touch in the opposition box in 77 minutes. Duran, by contrast, scored twice and had four touches in the Besiktas box in about half an hour.

What O'Neill said
O'Neill said the changes were planned, noting Celtic had played nine games in 25 days and some players needed a breather. "It was in design to do exactly what it did," he said.
He praised both scorers, saying Osmand can "definitely score a goal" and that Duran has been "fabulous for us all season no matter where he plays".
